In the beginning of the summer we got 3 new family members... Zorro, Simba and Nala came to take care of the growing mouse population...

Last summer Oscar came to France with Sha... A busy young lady, who cooks wonderful Asian food...And she wanted to learn paint walls... 

Viime kesänä Oscar tuli meille Shan kanssa... Vilkas nuori nainen, joka kokkaa aivan ihanaa aasialaista ruokaa... Ja hän halusi myös opetella maalaamaan seiniää...

SUMMER KITCHEN... KESÄKEITTIÖ...

It has been months since I have posted anything on this blog... I know, many of you must been wondering what has happened to us... The only thing is work and lots of it... Inside and outside.  In summer 2012 we have also taken some time to just enjoy the house... This years visitors were lucky, they didn't need to put up with so much work than the previous year... And I will take the opportunity to thank all our friends and family who has been helping us to renovate and work in our house or garden. It has been a fantastic time to enjoy your company eating Gerald's cooking and drinking good wine while sitting and watching sun sets during the summer evenings... Here is some results from the outside work that we have been doing...

Siitä onkin jo kuukausia kun viimeksi olen päivittänyt tätä blogia... Monet ovat varmaan ihmetelleet mitä meillä on tapahtunut... Voin vain kertoa, että koko viime vuosi on ollut aika työntäytteinen vuosi... Talon sisällä ja ulkonkin on tapahtunut paljon kaikenlaista... Kesän 2012 aikana annoimme myäs enemmän aikaa itsellemme nauttia talosta ja kesästä varsinkin... vierailijat eivät viime vuonna evää joutuneet tekemään aivan yhtä rankasti hommia. haluankin  nyt kiittää kaikkia sukulaisia ja ystäviä, jotka ovat näiden kahden vuoden aikana auttaneet meitä kukin omalla tavallaan rakentamaan ja remontoimaan taloamme. On ollut aivan mahtavaa nauttia teidän seurastanne, Geraldin kokkailun ohella ja kaikista niistä illoista, joilloin olemme nauttineet hyviä viinejä auringon laskua katsellen. 

Tässä tulee kerrallan oikein kunnon päivytys kaikkeen siihen mitä olemme saaneet aikaan...

Kesäkeittiömme valmistui vasta viimekesän aikanan, joten pääsemme nauttimaan siitä ja Geraldin ulkokokkauksesta vasta ensikesänä...

I got this oven as a present from Horacio, the window guy... Actually we ordered this through him and one day just before my birthday Horacio came to visit us and told that he had something for my birthday... With this oven we cook lovely chicken and veggies and smoke salmon with Finnish wood ships...

Tämä uuni oli lahja Horaciolta, meidän ikkuna kaverilta, tilasimme uunin hänen kauttaa ja muutama päivä ennen syntymäpäivääni Horacio tuli käymään tuoden tullessan minulle lahjan... Uunissa valmistamme maalaiskanaa vihannesten kanssa ja savustamme lohta, Suomesta ostetun leppärouheen antamalla aromilla...
