OUR FUTURE BATHROOM... MEIDÄN TULEVA KYLPYHUONE...

Do you remember this... We you to call it the Kosovo bathroom...

Muistatko tämän... Me kutsuimme tätä Kosovo kylpyhuoneeksi...

...Or this...
Tai tämän...

So now the future main bedroom's bathroom looks like this...

No nyt tulevan makuuhuoneemme kylpyhuone näyttää tältä...

FIRST UNDERCOVER... ENSIMMÄINEN POHJAMAALAUS...

I had to paint just the part of this huge wall, that today the carpenters could start to instal the main staircase... The rest of the decorative paint will be done after January, ones the whole house is heated...

THE HEATING SYSTEM... TALON LÄMMITYSSYSTEEMI...

We will be using wood chips to heat up all our buildings as well as to produce our hot water. The wood chip burning will be fully automated and stored inside a large silo feeding the boiler with a screw. The wood is from our forest and the only cost involved is the chipping which is estimated at 250 euro a year. Here we are laying the main hot water pipe between the barn where the boiler is and the main house.

Me tulemme käyttämään puusilppua lämmityspolttoaineena talon ja kuumanveden lämmitykseen. Puusilppu kulkeutuu automaattisesti siilosta johon se on varastoitu suoraan lämpökattilaan pitkän loputtoman ruuvin avulla. Lämmitys poltin on tosi ekonoominen ja koska puut tulee omasta metsästä, koko tilan lämmityksen arvoidaan maksavan vain 250€ vuodessa...Tässä ollaan vetämässä lämminvesiputkea talon ja tallin välillä, jossa lämpökattila sijaitsee...

THE ROOF... KATTO...

The roof needed a total renovation, 1/3 of the old roof tiles were re-used. We have been so lucky to have a sunny autumn...

Freddy our Compagnon replacing the old roof opening, this time these small openings stays closed, because we don't need any openings in the attic anymore. These small "roof windows" are just for decoration and they are closed by a plexiglass that the bee or birds can't nest inside...

Our new beautiful roof... Meidän uusi ja kaunis katto...

...The old roof...
... Vanha katto...

And the new...
Ja uusi...

GERALD'S NEW PASSION...GERALDIN UUSI INTOHIMO....

We need locks and hinges to fit on the new doors inside the house. After some research on catalogues, it came to Gerald's attention that many of our old doors are fitted with ancient hand made ones. They just need to be cleaned from the many layers of paint that have hidden their beauty over the decades. For this, Gerald uses a welding torch to burn the paint off before cleaning the objets with metal brushes.

Pieni laskuerehdys betonikuormassa... Ja nämä kaverit jatkoivat sementti hommia iltamyöhään omalla sementtimyllyllä...

THINGS ARE GOING WELL... MEILLÄ TAPAHTUU KOKOAJAN...

The new entrance door... first time in 3 month we locked the door, when leaving the house...

2 out of 4 now finished on the roof... Aren't they beautiful...

2 valmista 4:stä kattoikkunasta... Eivätkö ne olekin upeita....

Most of the inside walls have been insulated and they have a gips plate to cover the old walls and later a natural finishing...

11.11.11 & FREDDY...

The carpenter finishing the "bridge" that takes the staircase up to the second floor...

Puuseppä viimeistelemässä "siltaa" joka johtaa portaat toiseen kerrokseen...

11.11.11 was special day this year, but it's also the date of the end of the Second World War, so a public holiday in France... Freddy's mother had prepared a traditional country food... Blood sausage, tripe sausage cooked with white wine on the hot coal and a soup made of white beans, porc skin and bread...
Thank you so much for Freddy's mother for this special meal...
